The National Energy Regulator of SA (NERSA) allowed Eskom to increase its average tariff by 9.61% effective 1 April 2022 for standard tariff customers and 8.61% for municipalities.

An average increase on electricity of 8.6% will be adopted by the municipalities, which is effective from 1 July 2022.

Winter tariffs were effective from 1 June 2022 and will end on 31 August 2022, at which time the lower summer pricing becomes effective.

It should also be noted that peak times shift an hour earlier during the winter period – 6am-9am & 5pm-7pm on weekdays.
